The Okumiya of Mitsumine Shrine stands at 1700 meters elevation in the sacred peaks of Chichibu. Since ancient times, this has been the holy site for mountain ascetics. Countless practitioners have walked the path toward heaven indicated by the three peaks. I visit this sanctuary occasionally to gaze upon my deepest self where mountain and sky become one. The holiness of Mitsumine transcends words.
