History

Byakko

Ninomiya Jinja in Funabashi has long been cherished by the local community as a guardian shrine of this region. The name Ninomiya reflects the shrine's status as a distinguished shrine, being the second-ranked shrine (Ninomiya) of Shimosa Province. From the Edo period through the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras, it has been deeply revered as the local tutelary deity. During times when agriculture thrived, people prayed for abundant harvests, and in modern times, the shrine continues to be an important place where people pray for regional development and the safety of residents. Set within the verdant surroundings of Mishima, it continues to bring peace and comfort to all who visit.
