Ose Jinja is enshrined at the tip of Osezaki, a beautiful peninsula jutting out into Suruga Bay. Since ancient times, it has been held in deep reverence by fishermen and sailors as a shrine dedicated to the god of the sea, with prayers offered for safe passage at sea and abundant catches. Osezaki is also known as a place of spectacular views overlooking Mount Fuji and is popular as a diving spot. Surrounded by the bounty of the sea and beautiful nature, this shrine continues to be cherished as a guardian deity of the sea, watching over the safety and happiness of all those whose lives are connected to the ocean.
