Suwa Daijin Shrine stands in Sasagawa, Higashijo-machi, Katori District, Chiba Prefecture. The principal deity is Takeminakata-no-kami, with Kotoshironushi-no-kami and Okuninushi-no-kami enshrined alongside. Formerly ranked as a gosha, this shrine was established through enshrinement from Suwa Taisha in Shinano Province. Takeminakata-no-kami is widely revered as a deity of martial valor and agriculture, and has long been venerated by farmers, fishermen, and river travelers of Shimousa Province. Watching over the flow of the Sasagawa River, the shrine continues its quiet role as guardian of the local community.
