Koshōji

Koshoji is a temple of the Ji sect located in Yamanouchi, Kamakura. Its mountain name is Seidaisan, and its principal image is Amida Nyorai. It was founded by Ikko Shunsei and serves as a branch temple of Shojokoji (Yugyo-ji). The grounds around the main hall are planted with many rhododendrons, earning it the nickname Shakunage-dera (Rhododendron Temple). Beyond rhododendrons, the temple is also known for its snow willows and forsythia, ensuring flowers bloom throughout the four seasons.
