History
Hokai-ji is a historic Nichiren Buddhist temple located near Komachi Street in Kamakura. Founded in the Kamakura period, it is also known as the ancestral temple of the Hojo clan. The principal image is Shakyamuni Buddha, and it is believed to offer benefits that align with people's lives, such as exorcism, safe childbirth, and family safety.
