History
Hokai-ji is a historic Nichiren Buddhist temple located near Komachi Street in Kamakura. Founded in the Kamakura period, it is also known as the ancestral temple of the Hojo clan. The principal image is Shakyamuni Buddha, and it is believed to offer benefits that align with people's lives, such as exorcism, safe childbirth, and family safety. In particular, many women visit seeking blessings for conception and safe childbirth. 専用駐車場はありません。近隣の鎌倉駅周辺の有料駐車場をご利用ください。鎌倉駅東口周辺に複数の駐車施設があります。
土日祝日の10時~15時は参拝者が多く混雑します。平日の午前中がおすすめです。
JR横須賀線鎌倉駅から徒歩約10分です。駅の東口を出て、若宮大路を南に進み、二の鳥居を左折して山道を上がるルートが最短です。
