Sogahime Jinja

Sogahime Shrine, located in Soga, Chuo-ku, Chiba City, is an Engishiki-ranked shrine with a former social rank of go-sha. The principal deities are Sogahime no Okami and Chiyoharu Inari no Okami. In the medieval period, the shrine became centered on the Kasuga deity and was known as "Kasuga Daimyojin." It additionally enshrines the four Kasuga deities including Futsunushi no Kami and Takemikazuchi no Kami. Long venerated as the tutelary shrine of the local community, it continues to attract many worshippers seeking blessings for safe childbirth and good matches.
