History
Awa Jinja, situated in Seto-cho, Naruto City, is a venerable shrine bearing the name of Awa Province. Since ancient times, it has served as the tutelary deity of the local community, warmly watching over the lives of its residents as a sacred place. Located near the Naruto Strait, it is revered as a kami presiding over both the bounty of the sea and the abundance of the land. The faith of those engaged in fishing and agriculture has been particularly devout, with many worshippers visiting to pray for abundant catches and harvests.
