Omiya Atsuta Shrine is located in Matsumoto City (formerly Azusakawa Village, Minamiazumi District), Nagano Prefecture, and served as a prefectural shrine (kensha). It enshrines three deities: Amaterasu Omikami, Azusamisukami, and Yamato Takeru no Mikoto. The main hall is designated an Important Cultural Property. Situated overlooking the Azusa River, the shrine has long been venerated as a guardian of agriculture and water. Its grand annual festival, held each April, continues to draw devoted worshippers from the surrounding community.
