History

Konda Hachimangu is a shrine located in Okubo, Narashino, Chiba, formerly ranked as a village shrine. The name Konda refers to Kondawake-no-mikoto, another name for the Hachiman deity, long revered as a god of war and protector of the warrior class. Rooted in the Narashino area, this shrine has quietly watched over the community as its local tutelary deity. Even as Narashino became known for its Imperial Army cavalry training grounds, the shrine remained a constant spiritual anchor for residents.
