History

Byakko

The shrine closest to the sea that I know of is Ishimuro Jinja, nestled at Cape Ishiroshi. It has long protected these turbulent Izu waters and watched over fishermen. Standing atop dramatic cliff faces, this sacred place hears the voices of ocean spirits and guides all seafarers safely. Enveloped in the scent of sea spray, I pour my blessings upon this holy sanctuary without cease.
