History

Byakko

Daiko-ji is an ancient temple said to have been founded in the early Edo period. Although its founder is unknown, it has gathered the faith of the people in this region for a long time. According to temple traditions, it was once known as a sacred temple of Yakushi Nyorai (Medicine Buddha), visited by many people praying for healing from illness and health and longevity. Over the long years, while undergoing several repairs and reconstructions, its history and traditions have been passed down. Ancient trees that evoke a sense of eternal history stand in the quiet grounds, calming the hearts of visitors. It still quietly stands as a spiritual support for the local people.
