Tomizuka Hachimangu is a guardian shrine in Totsuka Ward, Yokohama. According to tradition, it was founded in 1072 by Minamoto no Yoriyoshi and his son Yoshiie while they prayed for victory during their expedition to Oshu. The principal deities are Hondawake no Mikoto (Emperor Ojin) and Tomizukahiko no Mikoto, revered for granting victory and good fortune. As a former go-sha, it has long served as the tutelary shrine of the Totsuka community.
