Taishoku-ji is an ancient temple enshrined in Tairyū-cho, Kagoshima. True to its name "Taishoku" meaning great victory, it has long been revered as a shrine of miraculous efficacy that grants strength in matters of winning and at important crossroads in life. It is said that even the samurai of Satsuma prayed for certain victory here before going to war, and today many pilgrims visit seeking success in examinations, employment, and business endeavors. As reflected in the place name Tairyū, it is also said to receive the protection of the dragon deity, and is known as a power spot for the elevation of fortune. If one prays with sincerity within the quiet temple grounds, surely great victory shall be obtained.
