History

Byakko

This Inage Sengen Shrine is deeply connected to the worship of Mount Fuji. Its founding is ancient, and it is said that Minamoto no Yoritomo invited the Sengen deity to this place during his Fuji hunting expedition. It is said that Mount Fuji could once be seen from the shrine grounds, and a remnant of that can still be felt. The principal deity is Konohanasakuya-hime-no-Mikoto, who is devoutly worshipped as a deity of safe childbirth and matchmaking. Located on a quiet hilltop, it is a place where one can worship with a peaceful mind while feeling the pleasant breeze.
