History

Byakko

Gosen Hachimanguu enshrines Emperor Ojin as a deity of military valor and victory, long established in the Gosen area. The Hachiman deity has been revered since ancient times as a protector of samurai clans, and many warriors are said to have visited here to pray for victory in battle. Named after the five pure springs that flow here, the Hachiman deity has watched over the peace and development of the region. In modern times, students and athletes continue to visit seeking prayers for victory and receive the blessings of Hachiman.
