Togakushi Shrine

Togakushi Shrine is located in Soja, Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture. Known as the presumed site of the Kazusa Province General Shrine, it has long held a central role in regional worship. The name Togakushi evokes the legend of the heavenly rock cave. Though ranked as a village shrine in the former shrine classification system, its history as a center of faith in Kazusa Province runs deep. The shrine stands quietly on the Ichihara plain, continuing to welcome visitors today.
