History

Byakko

This temple is an ancient temple with a tranquil atmosphere, founded by the Hojo clan, who were the regents of the Kamakura Shogunate. The principal image is Yakushi Nyorai, believed to bring benefits for recovery from illness. In addition to the main hall, there is a five-storied pagoda and a bell tower within the precincts, with buildings that evoke a sense of history scattered around. The moss-covered stone steps and the quiet garden heal the hearts of visitors. It is recommended for those who wish to spend time peacefully away from the hustle and bustle of Kamakura.
