History
Bessho Jinja is an ancient shrine located in the Bessho Onsen area, revered as the guardian deity of the hot spring region. Bessho, known as the "Kamakura of Shinshū," is a place of profound historical significance where numerous temples and shrines are scattered throughout. Among them, this shrine holds an important position. Together with the blessings of the hot spring, the shrine has continued to watch over the health and happiness of all who visit this land. Along with the Bessho spiritual sites including Kitamuke Kannon, it stands as one of the precious sacred places that tells the story of Shinshū's history and culture, beloved by many people.
