History
Hayashi Shrine is located in Miyanoue, Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture, and formerly held the rank of prefectural shrine (kensha). Its hilltop site was historically called Ueno, earning the shrine the alternate names Ueno-no-Miya and Kaminomiya Myōjin. This location is also said to be the origin of the place name Akashi. The shrine's autumn festival, featuring a single futon-daiko drum float, is celebrated throughout the region. Standing quietly on a hill, the shrine has watched over the history of Akashi for many centuries.
