Iinoya guu is an ancient shrine dedicated to Prince Munenaga, an imperial prince from the Southern and Northern Courts period. Enshrined in Iinoya, the birthplace of the Ii clan, it is also known as a place associated with Ii Naotora, who became famous through a major television historical drama. Revered as the deity of learning, it is visited by many pilgrims seeking academic success and passage on examinations. Historic sites within the grounds tell the story of the Ii family, allowing visitors to experience historical romance. The serene mountain environment provides an ideal setting for sincere prayer.

御朱印は拝殿向かって右後ろの授与所で受け付けています。月替わりの通常御朱印のほか、3月・5月に2枚重ねると花が合わさるクリア御朱印が数量限定で頒布されます。

遠鉄バスまたは浜松市自主運行バスの「井伊谷宮前」停留所が最寄りで、バス停から徒歩すぐです。隣接する龍潭寺と比べて参拝者は少なく、境内は静かなことが多いです。

境内南側に第1駐車場(舗装)、北側に第2駐車場(砂利敷き)の2か所があります。第2駐車場の奥にスロープがあり、そこから拝殿前まで段差なく進めます。
