History
Iinoya guu is an ancient shrine dedicated to Prince Munenaga, an imperial prince from the Southern and Northern Courts period. Enshrined in Iinoya, the birthplace of the Ii clan, it is also known as a place associated with Ii Naotora, who became famous through a major television historical drama. Revered as the deity of learning, it is visited by many pilgrims seeking academic success and passage on examinations. Historic sites within the grounds tell the story of the Ii family, allowing visitors to experience historical romance. The serene mountain environment provides an ideal setting for sincere prayer.
