Tsushima Jinja is a spiritually efficacious shrine enshrined in Tome, with Susanoo no Mikoto as its enshrined deity. It was invited from Tsushima Shrine of Owari Province and has protected the village of Sanuma. Since ancient times, it has gathered deep faith as a deity for the prevention of epidemics, and particularly during the summer Gion Festival, many worshippers visit. Known for the divine virtues of Tsushima Gozu Tenno in healing illnesses and protection from calamities, it continues to watch over the health and peace of the local people.
