Jigenji is an ancient temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect, situated deep in the mountains of Kamikatsu-cho, Tokushima Prefecture. Its principal image is the Eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva, and the temple is widely known among pilgrims as the inner sanctuary of the 20th stop on the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage and the 3rd stop on the Shikoku Bekkaku 20 Sacred Sites. The sound of Kanjosui Waterfall resonates throughout the precincts, quietly cleansing the hearts of all who visit. In the deep spiritual atmosphere of the mountain, the compassionate gaze of Kannon continues to watch over all people to this day.
