History
Tsushima Jinja, enshrined in Sodoshi-cho, Shimizu Ward, is a venerable shrine rooted in the Tsushima faith tradition. The enshrined kami of Tsushima Jinja is Susanoo no Mikoto, and this faith as a protector against epidemics and misfortune has spread throughout the nation. Due to its location near Shimizu Harbor, it has earned deep devotion from those engaged in maritime and fishing industries, and is also known for blessings of safe voyages and business prosperity. Sought especially in summer as a kami who prevents epidemic outbreaks, it receives many visitors offering prayers for health. Beloved by many as a warm shrine rooted in the community, its faith continues strong.
