Banshouin is a Soto Zen temple in Taguchi, Saku City, Nagano Prefecture, bearing the mountain name Dairyozan and enshrining Shakyamuni Buddha as its principal image. Said to have been founded in 1584 during the Tensho era, it has watched over the Taguchi community for more than four centuries.
