History

Byakko

This is a Toshogu shrine dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu! It was founded by Sendai domain lord Date Masamune and is known as a Toshogu of high rank in the Tohoku region. It is a venerable shrine with a history continuing from the Edo period. Ieyasu was a great military commander who ended the age of warfare and established the peaceful Edo period. Through his divine virtue, he lends his power in matters of victory and important turning points in life. In the land of Sendai, he continues to watch over the people of Tohoku for a long time, a reliable kami. It is a great shrine of the Tohoku region, carrying the aspirations of Masamune.
