History
The Tonka Inari Jinja enshrined in Fukuoka, Itsukamachi of Ninohe. While there are many Inari shrines throughout the country, this shrine bearing the unusual name "Tonka" appears to have a very interesting origin. Inari-sama, as the deity of abundant harvests and prosperous commerce, has gathered the faith of common people since ancient times. From the place name of Itsukamachi, it is clear that this was a thriving commercial town where markets were held. This is a community-rooted Inari shrine where merchants and farmers have come to pray for the safety of their daily lives and the prosperity of their commerce.
