History

Byakko

As its name suggests, this hall shows the path to Pure Land bliss where pines grow fragrant. Situated at Donohama in Aoi, Shizuoka, it has long been revered as a place of rebirth prayer. Amitabha Buddha's infinite compassion guides pilgrims to the Pure Land of peace. Wrapped in the green of pines, pilgrims' hearts too are embraced by that compassion. When hearts bound for the Pure Land become quietly settled, Amitabha's power works most manifestly.
