Shogakuin is a temple of the Buzan sect of Shingon Buddhism, located in Murakami, Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture. Its mountain name is Ikishouzan and its temple name is Ouji (Oshidoridera). The principal object of worship is Dainichi Nyorai. The temple is renowned for its legend of mandarin ducks (oshidori), which inhabit the pond and are said to bring blessings for romantic bonds and marital harmony. It has been venerated for centuries as a sacred site for those praying for love and happy marriages.
