Kotohira Jinja is a shrine in Asao Ward, Kawasaki, founded through the bestowal of Kanaayahime from Kotohira-gu in Sanuki. When Kotohira faith, which became known as "Konpira-sama" during the Edo period, spread throughout the nation, this shrine was established in this area. Located in a residential neighborhood, it has been cherished as an intimate place of worship for local people. Though small, its refreshing grounds are appreciated as a place to calm one's mind amid daily life. The warm atmosphere of this shrine brings a sense of peace and community.
