Yamamiya Sengen Jinja is a sacred shrine located in Yamamiya, Fujinomiya, and is said to be the original shrine of Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha. It is also known as the birthplace of Mount Fuji faith, and the age of its history and depth of its spiritual efficacy are immeasurable. Since ancient times, Mount Fuji has been revered as the divine body, and the kami of Mount Fuji has been enshrined in this place. Without a main hall, this precious shrine preserves the ancient form of rituals in which Mount Fuji is worshipped directly. From the shrine grounds, one can see the majestic Mount Fuji at a glance, and the heart is purified by its divine appearance. As a sacred site where the fundamental spiritual power of Mount Fuji dwells, many believers visit seeking peace of mind and spiritual purification.
