Shirooka Shrine

Shirooka Shrine is located in Otemachi, Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, on grounds that once formed part of the second enclosure of Numazu Castle. The shrine stands as a living remnant of the castle's history, carrying forward its protective role from fortress guardian to protector of the broader community. Today, the shrine also distributes gojo-in (castle stamps) for both Numazu Castle and its predecessor Sanmaibashi Castle, drawing history enthusiasts alongside traditional worshippers. The shrine continues to quietly watch over the people of Numazu, cradling the memory of the castle within its precincts.
