History
Ofuna Kannon-ji is a temple known for its colossal statue of Byakui Kannon. This Kannon statue was built with the wishes for the repose of the war dead and world peace. It stands approximately 25 meters tall, and its majestic figure deeply impresses visitors. The Kannon is believed to hear people's prayers, grant their wishes, and heal illnesses. 境内に観音像の内部を登れる階段があり、展望台から鎌倉周辺の景色を眺められます。入場料は500円です。観音像の内部見学は別途料金が必要となります。
JR大船駅東口から徒歩約10分です。駅から観音通りを進み、標識に従って進むと到着します。駅から寺院への道は坂道が多いため、歩きやすい靴の着用をお勧めします。
大船駅東口から徒歩約10分の距離にあります。専用駐車場は20台程度で、参拝者は無料で利用できます。休日は満車になることが多いため、駅周辺の有料駐車場の利用も検討してください。
休日や大型連休は参拝者が集中します。午前中の早い時間帯、平日の訪問がより快適です。特に初詣時期（1月1日～7日）は非常に混雑するため、時間に余裕を持ってお越しください。
