Ooi Jinja is enshrined in the center of Fujieda and has long been cherished as the principal shrine guardian of this region. It is said to be deeply connected to the origin of the place name Fujieda and has been central to the region's history and culture. During the Edo period, it served as an important guardian deity of Fujieda-juku, a thriving post station on the Tokaido, collecting the faith of those praying for travelers' safety and prosperous commerce. Today it remains at the center of regional festivals and annual observances, continuing to receive unwavering affection as the spiritual foundation of Fujieda's people.
