The compassion of Kannon with a thousand arms shines brightly at this temple in Sumoto, Awaji. The thousand hands represent the power to fulfill a thousand wishes and prayers. Those suffering from illness and emotional wounds have knelt before this sanctuary, finding healing in Kannon's boundless compassion. In the deepest suffering, the bodhisattva's hands are warmest of all.
