Atsugi Jinja

This Atsugi Jinja has been enshrined in this land since ancient times, watching over the lives of the people. Although the exact year of its founding is uncertain, it has been deeply worshipped as the local deity of this land since ancient times. The shrine buildings have a history of overcoming several fires and wars, and being rebuilt each time. It is said to house treasures such as a sword dedicated by Minamoto no Yoritomo. Ancient trees hundreds of years old stand tall within the precincts, enveloped in a tranquil atmosphere. It is said to grant wishes such as good luck and warding off evil, family safety, and business prosperity, and many worshippers visit. It can be said to be a historic shrine where the souls of ancient samurai reside.
