Hikawa Nyotai Jinja is an important shrine that, together with Omiya Hikawa Jinja and Nakayama Jinja, forms the three shrines of the primary Hikawa Shrine of Musashi Province. It enshrines Wakahirume no Mikoto and has been worshipped since ancient times as the guardian deity of women. Located at the water's edge of Minuma, this shrine has been revered since ancient times as a water deity and agricultural deity. It is particularly said to have miraculous efficacy for women's wishes and attracts many female pilgrims praying for safe childbirth, matchmaking, and health and beauty. The serene atmosphere of the precincts is ideal for composing one's heart and offering sincere prayers.
