Kego Jinja, enshrined in the center of Tenjin, is an ancient shrine connected to Empress Jingū. True to its name, it has served the role of protecting and fortifying this land. Since ancient times, it has been revered as the tutelary shrine of Hakata, particularly known for its divine virtue in protection from misfortune and calamity. While located in the heart of Fukuoka's bustling Tenjin district, its serene grounds calm the hearts of worshippers. Even today, many people visit at important junctures in their lives to pray for divine protection.
