History
Nishino Jinja is a shrine founded alongside the western development of Sapporo. It is said that during the Meiji period, people who settled in this peaceful land built it to give thanks to their ancestral deities and to pray for protection in their new home. As the place name "Heiwa" (peace) suggests, the serene sanctuary surrounded by beautiful nature soothes the hearts of those who visit. It continues to be loved by many as the guardian deity of the community and as a place to deepen family bonds.
