History
This venerable shrine in Motomachi, Kobe, has a history of over 1,100 years as the tutelary deity of the former Hashiudo Village. Dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, it is revered as the deity of learning and calligraphy. A brush mound stands beside the shrine hall. The Yakuyoke Festival in January and Tenjin Festival in July are celebrated widely. Its former shrine rank was village shrine.
