Hokkaido Toshogu, also known as Hakodate Toshogu, is a shrine located in Jinkawacho, Hakodate, Hokkaido. It is one of the Toshogu shrines enshrining Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Edo shogunate, deified as Tosho Daigongen. Ranked as a prefectural shrine (kensha) under the old shrine classification system, it was established to bring the blessings of the Tokugawa legacy to the northern lands of Hokkaido. Situated in the historic international port city of Hakodate, it has long served the local community as a place to pray for victory, prosperity, and good fortune, and its solemn architecture reflects the prestige of the Toshogu tradition.
