Kinspenji, located in Itano Town, is an ancient temple known as the Third Sacred Site of the Eighty-Eight Temples of Shikoku. As a holy place associated with Kobo Daishi Kukai, it bears over a thousand years of history. According to tradition, the temple's name "Kinspenji" comes from a golden well that once existed within the temple grounds. Spoken of as the first great trial for pilgrims on the Henro path, it is a place where many devotees renew their hearts in pilgrimage. In this sacred site blessed by the great master's compassion, let us offer prayers with tranquil hearts.
