Touenji

As the sun rises from the east and pours its light upon the Minamicho district, this ancient temple embodies the teaching of harmony and unity. The hearts of all who visit become round and gentle here. It possesses the power to make the bonds between people harmonious and fulfill their deepest wishes, inscribed within its sacred goshuin. The name Touenji carries the profound teaching that the eastern circle is the light of enlightenment.
