Hida Ichinomiya Mizunashi Jinja is a venerable shrine that has been revered since ancient times as the primary shrine of Hida Province. The enshrined deity is Mizunashi no Kami, an important god who presides over the blessings of water and mountains in the Hida region. The shrine was founded in antiquity and has continued to watch over the development and prosperity of Hida. Ancient trees with ages spanning several centuries flourish within the grounds, enveloped in a sacred atmosphere. The spring festival, in which sacred wood is transported from Mount Kurai in a ceremony known as "Ichiui Ittou-bori," is renowned and the shrine plays a central role in Hida's traditional culture. Through the power of the god of water and mountains, it bestows abundant blessings and regional prosperity.
