History

Byakko

Hida Gokoku Jinja enshrines the spirits of the war dead from the Hida region. Established to console the spirits of those who sacrificed their precious lives for the nation in wars since the Meiji period, with prayers for peace. Situated on a quiet hill overlooking the city of Takayama, the shrine continues to convey to visitors the importance of peace. In the season of cherry blossoms, flowers bloom beautifully and seem to express gratitude toward the honored war dead.
