History
Hiroshima Jinja is enshrined in the central part of Kitahiroshima. The place name Kitahiroshima derives from its development by settlers from Hiroshima Prefecture during the Meiji era. Likely established to remember the homeland of Hiroshima and to pray for success in this new land. It served as spiritual support for the pioneer group from Hiroshima and played an important role in deepening their bonds in this new territory. Walking alongside Kitahiroshima's development, it is now cherished by the entire citizenry as a guardian deity of the municipality. It is a warm-hearted shrine imbued with nostalgia for home and hope for a new land.
