History
Hyoju Taisha is a shrine of distinguished lineage with an ancient history as a shrine listed in the Engishiki of Omi Province. Enshrining the deity Hyoju, it has been deeply venerated by samurai as a god of military fortune and victory. The precincts feature an impressive gate tower, its beautiful form welcoming visitors. Known affectionately as "Hyoju-san" by local people, it actively receives prayers for abundant harvests and prosperous commerce.
