Takamimi Jinja is enshrined on a high plateau in Yahata Higashi Ward, Kitakyushu. As its name "Takamimi" suggests, it has long served as a guardian deity watching over the entire region from a location with excellent views. From this vantage point overlooking the industrial zone of Yahata, there is a history of prayers for industrial development and the safety of working people. Due to its elevated position, the kami is revered as a deity who views matters from a higher perspective and guides people toward the right path. Walking alongside the region's development, it continues to be cherished by many people today.
