Reigaanji is an ancient temple of the Rinzai Myoshinji school located in Kasahara, Kuroki-cho, Yame City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Its mountain name is Daitanzan, and it enshrines a thousand-armed Kannon as its principal image. The temple was founded by Eirinshutan, credited with establishing the origins of Yame tea, who is said to have spread tea cultivation in this area after returning from Ming Dynasty China. The founding patron was Matsuo Hisaie. The temple is renowned as the final pilgrimage site (No. 33) of the Chikugo Thirty-three Kannon Circuit, where many pilgrims complete their journey. The distinctive rock formations throughout the temple grounds are designated as a Fukuoka Prefectural Natural Monument, creating a unique landscape where nature and faith intertwine.
