Kasuga Jinja is a venerable shrine whose deity was invited from Kasuga Taisha in Nara, and it is the important shrine from which the name of Kasuga City derives. Receiving the deity of Kasuga, the tutelary god of the Fujiwara clan, it has continued to watch over the development and prosperity of this region. Known also as a deity of learning, Kasuga's gods are said to bring particular benefits in wisdom and cultural advancement, drawing many students and cultural figures to worship. Enshrined in the heart of Kasuga, it is cherished as a spiritual pillar of the community.
